About
As a strengths- and mindfulness-based counselor, I create a space where you can breathe a little easier, reconnect with your values, and make choices that feel more aligned with who you are.
I am a licensed professional counselor associate, LPC Associate who is under the supervision of John Joslin LPC-S, with 2 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, and the stress of uncertainty. I work with individuals who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves and are seeking greater clarity, balance, and emotional understanding. I tailor sessions to each client, creating space for reflection, curiosity, and practical tools that support growth and emotional awareness.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Louisiana. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, incorporating mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, existential therapy, and child-centered play therapy.
If you’re feeling uncertain, stuck, or navigating a season of change, you don’t have to do it alone. Counseling can provide a space to slow down, reflect, and move forward with intention. I strive to create a supportive environment where you feel heard and empowered as we work together toward meaningful and lasting change.

I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Angelo State University, where I developed a strong foundation in solution-focused, trauma-informed, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. Growing up in the African American community, I witnessed the stigma and reluctance surrounding mental health. I became a psychologist to reduce misunderstanding of what psychotherapy is, as this is often what keeps many people from getting the help they so desperately need.

Yes, there are therapists who help with anger via Anger management therapy. It’s a therapeutic process that an individual goes through to manage their anger and identify its triggers. They’re given clear instructions on how to improve their angry behavior as well as a safe space for opening up about their emotions.
Once an individual’s triggers are identified, anger management therapy focuses on helping the individual process and respond to these emotions in a more positive and productive manner. The anger management therapist will provide coping strategies and ultimately help their client take back control of their anger.
The five keys to mastering anger include identifying triggers, pausing before reacting, calmly expressing emotions, discovering constructive outlets for frustration, and seeking professional assistance if necessary. Acquiring these skills through Anger management therapy empowers individuals to effectively manage and navigate their anger.
The best therapy for anger management often involves cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps individuals identify and change patterns of thinking and behavior related to anger.
Anger management therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
Often, Anger management therapy lasts between 4-6 weeks. However, it can last longer, dependent on the individual’s needs.
