About Emma
I am a licensed professional counselor associate, LPC Associate who is under the supervision of John Joslin LPC-S, with 2 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, and the stress of uncertainty. I work with individuals who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves and are seeking greater clarity, balance, and emotional understanding. I tailor sessions to each client, creating space for reflection, curiosity, and practical tools that support growth and emotional awareness.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Louisiana. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, incorporating mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, existential therapy, and child-centered play therapy.
If you’re feeling uncertain, stuck, or navigating a season of change, you don’t have to do it alone. Counseling can provide a space to slow down, reflect, and move forward with intention. I strive to create a supportive environment where you feel heard and empowered as we work together toward meaningful and lasting change.

"As a strengths- and mindfulness-based counselor, I create a space where you can breathe a little easier, reconnect with your values, and make choices that feel more aligned with who you are."

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing is not linear, and you don't have to have a clear goal or the "right" words to start counseling. Counseling is a process of exploration and learning, not perfection.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, my focus is on helping you feel comfortable, supported, and heard. We'll talk about what brings you to counseling, what you're hoping for, and any questions or concerns you may have. Early sessions are about building trust, understanding your experiences, and gently identifying what feels most important to collaborate on.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe counseling should fit the person, not the other way around. I take time to understand each client's strengths, values, and life experiences, and I adjust my approach accordingly to ensure our work is always collaborative and responsive to your needs.
