About Leo
Dedicated to working with individuals of all ages, I focus on collaboratively uncovering each person's inherent strengths and talents. I am passionate about helping clients craft new life stories that highlight their perseverance and resilience in overcoming life's challenges. I hold a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and a master's degree in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
My clinical practice draws from DBT, Narrative Therapy, and ACT, all within a trauma-informed, strength-based framework. Our first meeting is a collaborative space designed for comfort and clarity. We'll spend our time getting to know each other, discussing what brings you to therapy, and gently outlining your goals.
My style is person-centered, emphasizing the importance of human connection and holding space for people to explore themselves and their needs in a safe and affirming environment.

"You don't have to figure it all out alone; together, we'll explore the patterns keeping you stuck, strengthen your emotional resilience, and build a life that feels more connected, balanced, and authentic. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Life's tough out here, and I knew from early on that I wanted to do my part to help be someone who could stand on the sidelines to hand out snacks and water to folks doing this marathon we call life.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with folks who are willing to be vulnerable and have tough conversations; even if that means practicing effective communication during our sessions. I feel like therapy is a vital space for people to practice human connection in a safe and affirming way and that we could use the space to create a sandbox to create new patterns for success in the world.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
We're all doing the best we can with the tools we've been given up until now, and there's nothing wrong with that. I wish more people knew how empowering therapy can be in helping them realize how tough they really are.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Our first meeting is a collaborative space designed for comfort and clarity. We will spend our time getting to know each other, discussing what brings you to therapy, and gently outlining your goals for our work together.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
The host of the children's TV show Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Fred Rogers once said that when he was younger and would see scary things in the news, his parent would tell him to, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'" That quote outlines the value I take from this work and the inspiration I get to help those around me to keep pushing forward.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
You're the expert here. Ultimately you know your life more than anyone else in the world and I strive to foster a collaborative environment where I create a dynamic with the folks I work with where we can go on this journey together.
