About
As a therapist with lived experience, I bring an eclectic, trauma-informed, and compassionate-centered approach that honors each person's unique story, creating a supportive space for healing, growth, and exploration of identity in all of its forms.
I am a therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and co-occurring mental health concerns. I work with adolescents and adults, and my experience spans private practice, addiction treatment, community mental health, and homeless services. I hold a master's degree in psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy and am EMDR trained.
My approach is eclectic, trauma-informed, and tailored to each client's unique needs. Drawing from EMDR, DBT, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing, I help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, process difficult experiences, and move toward lasting healing and growth.
Healing happens in a space where you feel safe, heard, and accepted exactly as you are. Whether you're facing a current challenge or carrying the weight of past experiences, you don't have to navigate it alone. When you're ready, I welcome the opportunity to support your journey.

As someone who has worked within complex healthcare and social systems, I understand how external barriers impact our well-being and therefore focus on helping clients build strategies that restore balance and self-direction.
I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker with 12 years of experience in behavioral health hospitals and care coordination. I bring a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens to therapy. As a Latina clinician, I recognize how culture, identity, and lived experiences shape our emotional well-being. I help clients navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, trauma, and major life transitions find healing, stability, and renewed confidence through compassionate, practical support. My goal is to help build emotional balance, self-understanding, and sustainable empowerment.
I received my Master of Social Work from Loma Linda University. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, combining evidence-based methods like CBT and mindfulness with trauma-informed care. I focus on helping clients gain self-awareness, develop coping strategies, and create sustainable change through compassion, structure, and empowerment.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel uncertain, but it’s a courageous choice. I hope that you feel supported, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and strength. Together, we’ll work toward healing that feels genuine, sustainable, and truly your own.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

Grief and loss counseling helps people grieve difficult losses including the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, or the end of a relationship. It helps people navigate their grief process and eventually accept, understand, and move forward from their loss. Thriveworks grief therapists in Huntington Beach, CA have specific experience, training, and skills that enable them to best support grieving individuals.
Grief and loss counseling isn’t one-size-fits-all, but it involves sharing about your loss and then working with your counselor to acknowledge and accept your new reality in its wake. Your provider at Thriveworks in Huntington Beach, CA will design your treatment plan around your unique needs and goals for therapy, applying the counseling techniques that best support them.
If you have recently experienced an event like the death of a loved one, a breakup or divorce, the loss of a job, or another major life change, then you may want to seek grief and loss counseling. Grief can be caused by many experiences and events, so if you feel that you are having trouble moving on from a certain event or find that it is still impacting your life and functioning, grief and loss counseling can help you process it more effectively so that you can move on and once again find fulfillment and satisfaction in your life.
There are many counseling theories for treating grief, one of the most frequently used being the dual process model of grief which helps people acknowledge who or what they’ve lost through rumination while also adjusting to the new roles and identities that this loss has now placed on them. There are also many commonly used therapy approaches used in grief and loss counseling, including Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and traumatic grief therapy.
Grief & loss counseling at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
For many, grief and loss counseling lasts for about 6 months. For others, it may last shorter or longer, depending on the severity of their loss and their grief.
