From personal and professional experience, I have found that the more transparent and truthful you are to yourself, the easier it is to work through issues and find peace.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges. My passion lies in helping people identify barriers to personal growth, improve emotional balance, and enhance their overall well-being. I specialize in working with adults and couples navigating issues such as anxiety, depression, codependency, life transitions, and communication difficulties in relationships.
I earned a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and focused on teaching practical tools that clients can apply in their daily lives. I believe in open, honest communication and often provide exercises between sessions to reinforce the skills we explore together.
Our first session will be a welcoming introduction where I get to know you, your background, and your goals. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can freely express yourself. Together, we’ll work toward identifying what’s standing in your way and build a path toward stability, success, and a more fulfilling life, one step at a time.

My role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, supportive environment that will allow you to grow in awareness of yourself and modify the things that create chaos and rigidity in your life, allowing you to optimize your health.
I am a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern with 24 years of experience supporting trauma survivors, including those affected by sexual violence, intimate partner violence, stalking, and homicide. I also work with clients managing anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect for each client’s journey. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Florida State University. My integrative approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy, crisis intervention theory, and a strengths-based perspective. At Thriveworks, Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) primarily concentrates on assisting individuals in emotion regulation, enhancing interpersonal relationships, and acquiring effective coping strategies for managing stress and emotional difficulties.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) targets your personal challenges. You may work with your DBT therapist to maintain diary cards to monitor progress, emphasizing validation and support in the therapeutic relationship. DBT follows a stage-based approach, prioritizing crisis reduction initially and life satisfaction.
DBT was initially developed to address the needs of individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). However, its versatile approach has enabled its application to a wide range of mental health conditions, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, stress, and anger issues.
The 4 pillars of DBT are mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) have distinct purposes and aren’t inherently superior or inferior to one another. DBT is most effective for managing emotional regulation, personality disorders, and interpersonal challenges, while EMDR is specifically tailored for individuals with trauma-related conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) with therapists at Thriveworks in Davie, FL is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The duration of a standard DBT program is typically around 24 weeks, which is roughly six months. The actual number of sessions will vary depending on the issues you wish to address.
