I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 15 years of experience in the mental health field and over 25 years of work in human and social services. I specialize in trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault recovery, substance use, and criminal justice–related concerns. I am known for my compassionate, empathetic, and open-minded approach, helping clients feel safe, supported, and understood as they work toward healing and stability.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Georgia State University and my master’s degree in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University. I am a nationally certified counselor, a certified grief counselor, an advanced certified clinical trauma specialist, and a certified forensic mental health evaluator.

I take an existential, humanistic, and solution-focused approach to therapy, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, and client-centered therapy. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 39 years of experience providing mental health and addiction counseling to children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, adjustment concerns, work- and relationship-related stress, and substance use and behavioral addictions, including gambling, pornography, and video gaming.

I earned my master’s degree in social work from Howard University. My approach to treatment is eclectic and evidence-based, drawing from person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and motivational interviewing to support meaningful and lasting change.

Karyn Kochan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Mediator in the state of Georgia. She is also a Certified Anger Management Professional and a Certified Life Coach. Karyn has 20+ years of experience empowering adults and couples with anxiety, anger, depression, and trauma to become successful in every area of their lives. 

Karyn has earned her Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science and her Masters of Science in Counseling from National Louis University in Chicago, IL. She has done post-graduate studies in Organizational Psychology at Walden University in Minneapolis, MN. She uses an eclectic and collaborative approach in her counseling practice. Karyn’s experience includes 8 years of mental health counseling in two psychiatric hospitals. In Illinois, Karyn was a Program Coordinator in a Dual Diagnosis inpatient unit. In Georgia, she was an inpatient & outpatient Psychiatric Program counselor and facilitator. 

Karyn seeks to establish a warm relationship with you utilizing a strength-based perspective, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused therapy. She uses a creative approach by including meditation, visualization, exercise therapy, and the arts to bring meaning and value to your life.

Kristin Allpere is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia who has 19 years of experience partnering with children, adolescents, adults, and couples seeking help with depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, ADHD, trauma, and developmental issues. She completed her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia. Kristin utilizes strengths-based, solution-focused, trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and cognitive-behavioral approaches to meet the varying needs and personalities of each individual. Kristin seeks to establish a caring therapeutic relationship focused on your unique needs. She does this through the use of humor, creativity, and candor to build on your personal strengths to assist you in meeting your life goals.

I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in Georgia with 2 years of experience. My background includes working in both college settings and private practice with diverse clients focusing on grief, loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, sexual identity, family issues, domestic violence, and gender identity. I work with clients 18 and older to create a safe and supportive environment where they can process emotions, gain clarity, and move toward their personal goals.

I earned my Master’s in Counseling Education from Georgia Southern University and am a National Certified Counselor. I use acceptance and commitment therapy to help clients explore values, face uncomfortable feelings, and build meaningful lives.
