Why did you decide to become a counselor?

Since the age of 10 I wanted to work as a mental health therapist.

What types of clients do you work with best?

Clients that are willing and ready to do their work. I also enjoy working with clients that are unsure and not fully ready.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am most excited to work with clients that need therapy. Clients that are having problems in relationships, financial, health, mental health, substances, and legal.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Therapy does NOT mean something is wrong with you!

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I choose to practice at Thriveworks to reach more clients. I am licensed in two states. Thriveworks is offered in varying locations. Thriveworks also cares about their therapist. A happy therapist is a better therapist.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by the change process. I love watching people change and develop self-awareness. I am inspired when an individual changes and their change impact their families and community.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Clients will learn about confidentiality. Clients can expect to feel heard and accepted. Clients can expect to explore and identify what their therapy goals.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

My goal of the first session is to develop an unconditional therapeutic relationship with healthy boundaries. I also need to understand what the client wants to work on.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

Clients need to know I am friendly and I don't bite. I understand starting therapy can be difficult.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love to spend time with family and friends. I love relaxing outdoors. I love walking! I love group exercise classes. I also enjoy spending time with my dog.
