Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I’ve always been deeply passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges and find healing. Over the years, I’ve seen how transformative a compassionate, supportive relationship can be in someone’s journey toward emotional well-being. I wanted to be that person who offers understanding, guidance, and a safe space for people to explore their emotions and grow. Being a counselor allows me to do what I love—helping others live their most authentic and fulfilling lives.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are open to self-exploration and committed to their personal growth. I particularly connect with individuals who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and are ready to work through challenges at their own pace. My approach is collaborative, so I enjoy working with people who are motivated to make lasting change and are looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space to do so.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m most excited to work with clients who are ready to take an active role in their healing journey. I love working with individuals who are open to exploring their emotions, challenging old patterns, and discovering new ways of coping. Whether they’re navigating life transitions, building self-esteem, or working through past trauma, I’m excited to support clients who are motivated to grow and create a life that feels more aligned with who they truly are.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that healing takes time and isn’t something that happens all at once. It’s perfectly okay to move at your own pace, and everyone’s journey looks different. Therapists don’t have all the answers, but we’re here to support you, offer guidance, and help you find your own way forward. Simply showing up and being open to the process is already a significant step.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because they align with my values of providing compassionate, client-centered care in a supportive environment. Thriveworks offers a collaborative space where I can work alongside a team of skilled professionals, allowing me to provide the best possible care while having access to a variety of resources to support my clients’ needs.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the strength and resilience people show, especially when facing life's challenges. It’s incredibly motivating to witness clients take steps, big or small, toward understanding themselves and creating positive change. The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in someone's life and be part of their healing journey truly fuels my passion for this work.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, clients can expect a comfortable and welcoming space where they can openly share their experiences. We’ll talk about the challenges they’re facing and their goals, and I’ll listen carefully to understand their unique needs. It’s a collaborative conversation where I’ll explain my approach to therapy and make sure they feel supported and understood. My goal is to build trust and set the stage for working together toward their personal growth and healing.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, I focus on building a safe and supportive environment where the client feels comfortable opening up. My goal is to understand their unique struggles and goals, and to discuss how we can work together to address them. I also want to ensure they feel heard and understood, laying a solid foundation for our ongoing work together.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a first session, clients should know that I am committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can feel heard and supported. I take an empathetic and collaborative approach to therapy, and I believe that each person’s journey is unique. My goal is to work alongside clients, helping them explore their challenges and achieve meaningful growth at their own pace.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
On my time off, I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it's hiking, biking, or just taking a walk in nature. I also love reading, practicing mindfulness, and spending quality time with friends and family. It's important for me to recharge and find balance, so I make time for activities that bring me peace and joy.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that truly defines me is my deep curiosity and passion for learning. I’ve always been someone who loves to explore new ideas, whether through reading, traveling, or engaging in meaningful conversations with others. I’m fascinated by the world and constantly seek out new perspectives, which helps me stay grounded and connected to life’s many layers. This curiosity not only enriches my personal experiences, but it also inspires me to continuously grow and adapt, keeping life vibrant and full of possibilities.
