I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, and family settings. My clinical focus includes trauma, grief and loss, adverse life experiences, and emotional regulation. I have extensive experience working with children, teens, and families involved in the foster care system, as well as individuals impacted by complex trauma and life transitions.

I earned my master’s degree in community counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. My work is grounded in trauma-informed, holistic, person-centered, and CBT-based approaches that emphasize safety, trust, empowerment, and resilience. I have experience supporting clients navigating psychiatric treatment programs and juvenile justice systems.

John Alvarez is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of experience in the mental health field. John specializes in working with adults, seniors, teens, and adolescents with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief/loss, parenting issues, relationship issues, stress and anger management, behavioral issues, work and school issues, and change of life challenges. He also works with couples and families to improve communication dynamics.

John earned his Master's Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He likes to help clients understand the root of their problems through open, informal conversation. He takes an eclectic approach and specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy for addressing changes to behaviors and person-centered therapy for gentle bereavement support.

Monica Pinzon is a Licensed Professional Counselor that has developed experience helping families with generational trauma, cultural issues, youth-specific trauma, challenges as an immigrant, life adjustments, and family conflict. Monica is an immigrant who has a strong understanding of the impact that life adjustments can have on a person's mental health and overall sense of well-being. She is able to connect with youth easily and utilizes unconditional positive regard with all her clients. Monica completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Monica utilizes a strength-based, client-centered, and holistic treatment approach and tailors dialog and treatment to meet the unique needs of each client. She uses different modalities as needed including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, art therapy, and play therapy, among other specialties.
