About Adebusola
Hi, I'm Adebusola, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a background in emergency and family medicine. I am passionate about patient-centered mental health care and creating a space where clients feel safe, heard, and respected. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, stress-related conditions, and life transitions. I believe in building strong therapeutic relationships and partnering with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their goals and needs.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each person's needs. I focus on helping clients understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while working together to develop healthy coping strategies, improve emotional wellness, and build resilience. I believe in treating the whole person and creating a space where clients feel empowered.
Seeking support can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate life's challenges alone. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and encouraged every step of the way. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing and wellness.

"I believe meaningful healing begins when people feel truly seen, heard, supported, and cared for without judgment. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My passion for mental health was inspired by a close family member's struggle with addiction and psychosis. Witnessing the profound impact mental illness can have on individuals and families sparked a desire to better understand and support those facing similar challenges. As a nurse practitioner with experience in emergency medicine, I have seen firsthand how mental and physical health are deeply connected. I chose psychiatric care because I believe healing begins when people feel heard, understood, and supported. My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers individuals to navigate life's challenges and move toward lasting wellness.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adolescents and adults who are seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, stress, burnout, mood disorders, and life transitions. Many of my clients are highachieving individuals, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and those navigating relationship challenges, grief, or significant life changes. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful progress toward their goals.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing is not a linear process, and progress often comes in small but meaningful steps. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Therapy and mental health treatment are not about "fixing" you—they are about helping you better understand yourself, develop effective coping skills, and build a healthier, more fulfilling life. Lasting change takes time, patience, and selfcompassion.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, my goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where you can share your concerns openly. We will discuss your symptoms, personal history, current challenges, strengths, and treatment goals. Together, we will develop a plan tailored to your needs, which may include therapy, medication management, lifestyle interventions, or a combination of approaches. During the early stages of treatment, we will focus on building trust, increasing understanding of your concerns, and identifying practical strategies that support meaningful improvement.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My interest in mental health was deeply influenced by witnessing a close family member struggle with addiction and psychosis. Seeing the profound impact mental illness can have on individuals and families inspired me to pursue psychiatric care and advocate for those facing similar challenges. My practice is guided by empathy, compassion, respect, cultural sensitivity, and the belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity. I value creating a collaborative relationship where clients feel supported, empowered, and hopeful throughout their healing journey.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I recognize that every client brings unique experiences, strengths, values, and goals to treatment. I take an individualized approach by carefully listening to each client's concerns and collaborating with them to develop a personalized treatment plan. Depending on the client's needs, I may integrate evidence-based therapeutic approaches, medication management, psychoeducation, coping skills development, and lifestyle strategies. I also consider cultural background, personal beliefs, and life circumstances to ensure care is both effective and meaningful.
