About Maureen
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 4 years of experience in mental health care. I specialize in supporting individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and life transitions. I combine evidence-based medication management with supportive therapy to promote healing and long-term well-being. I am dedicated to creating a compassionate, client-centered environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered in their journey toward mental health.
I earned my Master’s in Nursing from Walden University, where I developed a strong commitment to evidence-based care and holistic treatment. My approach blends medication management with supportive therapy to address each client’s unique needs, build coping strategies, and foster resilience and stability.
Taking the first step toward mental health care can feel overwhelming, but it is also an important act of strength. My goal is to provide thoughtful, personalized support that empowers you to move forward with confidence. If you’re ready to begin your path toward greater stability and well-being, I encourage you to schedule an appointment.

"Having experienced personal trauma and life's challenges, I am passionate about creating a safe and compassionate space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to heal."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
After years of working closely with patients in both emergency and mental health settings, I witnessed the deep need for compassionate, consistent psychiatric care. My decision to become a PMHNP was driven by a desire to do more—to be part of meaningful change in people’s lives. I’m passionate about providing care that not only addresses symptoms but supports lasting healing and growth.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are ready to engage in their mental health journey, whether they’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions. I particularly connect with individuals who may feel overwhelmed but are open to building insight, developing coping strategies, and working collaboratively toward meaningful change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing isn’t linear—and that’s okay. Progress can be slow, with ups and downs, but every step forward, no matter how small, matters. Mental health care is a process, not a quick fix, and committing to that process with patience and self-compassion can lead to real, lasting change.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect a thorough but comfortable assessment where we’ll discuss your history, current challenges, and goals. My focus is on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard. In the early stages, we work on building trust, understanding your unique needs, and developing an individualized plan to guide your treatment moving forward.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is deeply informed by years of firsthand experience witnessing the resilience and struggles of individuals facing mental health challenges. Compassion, respect, and empathy are core values that guide my work. I believe in treating each person as a whole individual, honoring their unique story and strengths while supporting their journey toward healing and growth.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by first taking the time to understand each client’s unique background, experiences, and goals. I use a flexible, evidence-based approach—combining medication management and therapeutic techniques—that fits their specific challenges and preferences. Collaboration is key, ensuring that treatment evolves as clients grow and their needs change.
