Counseling and Coaching

There can be no doubt that the greatest athletes of all times had great coaches. Muhammad Ali, Serena Williams, Usain Bolt, and Simone Biles have become household names, not because of their natural abilities alone but because of the training and guidance given by great coaches.

Anthony Robbins, John Maxwell, and Zig Ziglar are all world-famous business and life coaches. They have exceptional clients as well. Did you know that Bill Clinton, Justin Tuck, Wayne Gretzky, Serena Williams, and Hugh Jackman were all clients of Anthony Robbins? Think about that for a moment.

In my life, I have been helped by military officers and NCOs who were willing to take me under their wings. I recognized a long time ago that when I am at my best, it is in large part due to professional coaching and guidance. Look back at your life and see where your coaches have made a huge difference. It might have been a high school teacher or an athletic coach or a military leader. Once we realize the value of professional coaching, the only challenge that remains is finding the expert we need to help us attain our goals.

The top four areas we require guidance for success are: relationships, personal growth, career, and behavioral health. At Thriveworks, we have great therapists to help you with your behavioral health, and we have amazing coaches for the other three.

You might be wondering what a coach can really do for you. First of all, they give you an outsider’s perspective on your challenges and goals. Even Tiger Woods will tell you he needs a swing coach because he can’t watch himself hit the golf ball. Having an outsider watch and give perspective is always beneficial. When it comes to goal setting and accountability, a professional coach is the subject matter expert. The difference between an actor like Hugh Jackman working in b-rated movies rather than blockbuster movies is a matter of professional coaching. The difference between being an amateur boxer or the world champion and greatest of all time is definitely having the right coach. You just have to decide if you are okay with the status quo or if you want real change.

The best coaches are going to need to meet with you frequently. They are going to challenge you. They’re going to encourage and uplift you when you are down. They are going to hold you accountable for your goals. In the end, they’re going to do everything in their power to ensure that you achieve success. That is their purpose.

If you’re ready to take the first step in building the right habits to achieve amazing goals, just give us a call at 501-404-9737, and we will help you coordinate your first meeting with one of our top therapists or coaches.
