Having worked in the field for over fifteen years, and having made it my second career, I find I have a knack for connecting with clients who are undergoing change and adapting to new challenges.
Hi, I'm Yo-at (YOE-aht) Silverman and I've been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for nearly 20 years. I've been doing therapy since I finished my MA at New College of California in 2007, and I've been licensed since 2009.
Have you been experiencing a lot of worry, stress and anxiety lately? Has something significant changed in your life and you're just trying to make heads or tails of it all? Are you having issues staying on task or maintaining focus at work or at school? Are you trying to figure out how to get along with family, friends or coworkers? Have you and your partner been having issues communicating and trusting each other? Are you motivated to create change for your own growth and benefit? I can help.
My style is supportive, solution-focused, and coping skills centered. I'll listen without judgement or criticism and I'll give you concrete ideas and suggestions that are designed to help you in improving your quality of life, your relationships and your self-care (and no, I'm not talking about manicures or haircuts).
And if you need a vent session, I'm here for that, too.
I look forward to meeting you.

My approach to working with clients stems from believing that the client knows themselves best and with the help of direct feedback, understanding, and guidance, the client can discover a path forward in navigating their mental health with the strengths they already have in place.
Hello, I have been working with kids, teens, and young adults as an LMFT since 2016. I have worked with folks looking for support around substance use and harm reduction, self-harm, depression, anxiety, grief, and OCD. I am not limited to these areas and also have experience with relationships, attachment styles, and more.
There's no wrong way to build resilience. I'm client-centered and navigate based on where you want to go. I hold a holistic view, discovering what parts of your life need balancing. With ERP work, I offer gentle support and space when you're ready to move forward. I appreciate harm reduction approaches to substance use and safer ways to use if sobriety isn't your goal. I'm here to support what you want to work on in session.
Please feel free to reach out anytime. I would love to hear your story and hold space to navigate your mental health needs.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.
Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.
There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.
Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.
Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
Online therapy or counseling makes it easier than ever to talk to a mental health professional from the comfort of your home. All you need access to is a phone or a device capable of video conferences.
