Starting Online therapy

What is online therapy?

With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.

How does online therapy work?

Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.

What is the best option for online therapy?

There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.

Is online therapy just as effective?

Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.

How long does online therapy last?

Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.

How much does online therapy cost?

At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.

Need more help deciding?

When you schedule or attend an appointment, is it a comfortable and convenient experience? If you’re being completely honest, the answer is probably no. While it isn’t horribly uncomfortable or inconvenient, it still isn’t preferred. Are we right? If this is true for you, we have great news. There is now a more comfortable and convenient option available to you: telehealth. Telehealth enables patients and clients to attend their appointments virtually.

Online counseling services aren’t just comfortable and convenient but effective, too. In fact, many people find that online counseling is even more effective than traditional counseling. Why is this? Experts say this is due to people feeling more comfortable opening up to their therapist, and they do so quickly.

Have you ever needed mental health services? Have you ever wondered what counseling could do for you? If the answer is yes to either or both of these questions, consider scheduling an online therapy appointment at Thriveworks in El Paso, TX. If you call our office today, we can get you scheduled immediately, and you may even have your first session within 24-48 hours of calling.

What Are the Virtual Therapy Options at Thriveworks?

Thriveworks Counseling offers two main virtual therapy options: sessions by phone and video. Both telephone and video counseling are highly praised and valued by our clients.

Telephone sessions might be the right choice for you if you’re still warming up to the idea of counseling. These sessions offer greater anonymity and flexibility. Video sessions, though, are also a great option and might be the right choice for you if you like the face-to-face feel that you’ve experienced or seen in in-person counseling. Again, both are great options and can help you find success in counseling.

Does telephone counseling stick out as the better option? Are you more interested in talking to a counselor via video? Either way, we’re happy to set you up with a mental health professional who will accommodate your needs and preferences. They’re excited to help you resolve your challenges and pave the way to a better life.

How Can Online Counseling Improve My Life?

Thriveworks helped me realize that I do believe people can change. I’m not the person I was three months ago, broken and fearful. I’m healthy and happy and for the first time being kind to myself. Thank you for giving me my life back.
