Starting Online therapy

What is online therapy?

With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.

How does online therapy work?

Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.

What is the best option for online therapy?

There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.

Is online therapy just as effective?

Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.

How long does online therapy last?

Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.

How much does online therapy cost?

At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.

Need more help deciding?

We all have bad days where it feels like everything and everyone is working against us. We’re overwhelmed with our emotions from sadness to anger, frustration, stress, guilt, regret, anxiousness. The thing is that we can’t completely eliminate these emotions from our lives; nor can we ensure that we won’t encounter another bump in the road. What we can do is have a plan of attack for these difficult emotions and life’s many obstacles. Consider:

You’ve been feeling overwhelmed at work recently and you opened up to your best friend about what’s going on. You talk about the crazy workload, mounds of paperwork to get completed, and meetings with no end in sight. Your friend tells you that she worked with a counselor and it helped her find peace.

You schedule an appointment with an online counselor and you meet with them on weeknights. In just a few short sessions, you start to see improvements in your stress, personal relationships, and overall happiness.

If you are looking for dedicated and trusted therapy, you’ve come to the right place. Thriveworks Counseling in Phoenix, AZ has therapists, counselors, and other professionals on staff who can help you process and manage your emotions as well as the challenges you come across. Additionally, you can choose to work with them here at our office or from the comfort and convenience of your own home.

That’s right—we offer online counseling. And we can get you scheduled with an online counselor as soon as today or tomorrow. When you’re ready to get started, give our office a call or use our online booking system on this page to book your session yourself!

What Is Online Therapy? What Are the Benefits?

Online therapy is the convenient, comfortable option to talk to your therapist or counselor. This allows people who lead busy lives to work therapy or counseling into their schedule. How do people have time for online therapy, but not in-person counseling, you might be wondering?

Online therapy means that you can attend your therapy session from anywhere you want or need to attend from. In addition to being able to attend from the comfort of your own home, you can also attend from your car, a local coffee shop, or wherever else your schedule allows. Just make sure it’s a quiet, private space. This cuts out the time that it takes to travel to your local counseling office and back.

In addition to convenience and comfort, the most well-known online therapy benefits, online counseling offers:

  1. Flexibility: Generally, you’ll be able to schedule your online therapy appointment with greater flexibility than you will an in-person counseling appointment. You’ll more likely be able to schedule an evening or weekend session and you can schedule right on the spot, if you choose to work with a therapist or counselor online.
  2. Reliability: Online counseling also offers reliability. In other words, you can rely on having your session, despite an illness, physical disability, bad weather, traffic, and other circumstances that might cause you to cancel or reschedule an in-person counseling session.

Online counseling is the most comfortable, convenient, flexible, and reliable therapy option for many people. If you’re interested in working with a therapist online, give Thriveworks Counseling in Phoenix a call today. Our team is ready to help.
