About
As a woman of color who has experienced trauma, I deeply understand how life can sometimes hand you situations that feel overwhelming and hard to navigate, and I will walk this journey with you.
I am a licensed professional counselor associate (LPCA) with 7 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through emotional and relational challenges. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, communication difficulties, eating disorders, and life stressors. I am passionate about helping clients recognize their strengths, gain new perspectives, and feel more empowered in their daily lives.
I earned my master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Abilene Christian University. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and individualized, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing to help clients build practical tools for lasting change.
I understand that reaching out for support can be a vulnerable and overwhelming experience. I create a safe, compassionate space where you feel respected and heard. Together, we’ll identify root concerns, strengthen coping skills, and work toward meaningful growth. When you’re ready, I invite you to schedule a session and begin your journey forward.

My go-to approach for couples counseling is the Gottman method.
I teach communication and attachment styles as well as how they show up in the relationship via communication styles and ways to improve them.
I know when a client is making meaningful progress when they tell me they used skills learned in session in real time to problem-solve.
Clients can supplement couples counseling by using couple interaction apps to learn about each other and get conversation flowing.
To prepare for your first couples counseling session, make sure both parties want to do the work and want to be there.

At Thriveworks, Couples/marriage therapy is led by licensed professionals — often licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) — who are experts in their field and best-equipped to help couples.
The Gottman Method of couples therapy is a research-supported approach designed to enhance relationships by bolstering the bond between partners, resolving conflicts, and fostering shared meaning in their relationship through comprehensive assessments and tailored interventions that improve communication, trust, and the overall health of the partnership.
If you’re facing persistent relationship problems, communication breakdowns, or unresolved conflicts that are impacting your emotional well-being and happiness, Couples/marriage therapy may be beneficial for you.
While marriage and couple’s counseling is typically recommended for couples who are experiencing persistent or severe relationship issues, any relationship can benefit from attending these sessions.
Marriage and couples counseling at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend marriage and couples counseling for 12 weeks. However, couples & marriage counseling may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
