Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

My journey into this field was fueled by a passion for helping individuals navigate their unique challenges and achieve their fullest potential. Throughout my own experiences, I’ve seen the transformative power of therapy and support, and I wanted to be part of that healing process for others. I believe that every person has the capacity for growth and healing, and my goal is to facilitate that process by fostering a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with clients who are motivated for change and actively seeking support to navigate their challenges. I find that individuals who are open to exploring their thoughts and feelings and are ready to engage in the therapeutic process tend to benefit most from our work together.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am most excited to work with clients who are eager to embrace personal growth and are ready to explore new perspectives in their lives. I particularly enjoy collaborating with individuals who are facing transitions, whether that be related to their mental health, relationships, or career paths.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish all clients knew that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. It's a courageous step to acknowledge that you need support and to take action towards improving your mental health. Therapy is a collaborative process where you are not alone; I am here to partner with you on your journey. It’s normal to experience discomfort during this process, but that’s often where the most growth happens. I encourage clients to be open and honest about their feelings and experiences, as this vulnerability can lead to profound insights and healing. Remember, it's okay to take your time, every step you take is progress.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I chose to practice at Thriveworks because I resonate with its commitment to providing high-quality, accessible mental health care. The collaborative and supportive culture here allows for ongoing professional development and the opportunity to work alongside like-minded professionals who are equally passionate about helping others. I am excited to be part of a team that prioritizes both client well-being and therapist growth, and I look forward to contributing to the positive impact Thriveworks has on the community.

What inspires you?

Clients who are open to self-discovery and committed to making positive changes inspire me, as they bring a sense of motivation and possibility to the therapeutic process. I find great fulfillment in helping these individuals navigate their challenges and empowering them to achieve their goals, ultimately guiding them toward a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we’ll focus on getting to know each other. I’ll take time to learn about their unique background, experiences, and the challenges they’re facing.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

This initial meeting is all about building rapport and understanding their goals for therapy. Together, we will discuss what they hope to achieve through our sessions and start to outline some actionable steps to reach those goals. My aim is to ensure clients feel comfortable and heard, and to lay a strong foundation for our work together moving forward.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

Before scheduling a session, it's important for clients to understand that I prioritize getting to know them beyond just their presenting issues. I want to understand their background, values, and what makes them who they are. This holistic understanding allows me to tailor our work together in a way that truly resonates with them. I also encourage open communication; if there's ever anything on their mind, whether it’s about our sessions or their own feelings about therapy, I want them to feel comfortable sharing.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

In my free time, I love spending quality time with my dog, which brings me so much joy and companionship. I also cherish moments with my friends and family, especially our family game nights, which are filled with laughter and friendly competition. Additionally, I enjoy getting creative and engaging in crafts with my friends, whether it's trying out new DIY projects or simply enjoying some arts and crafts together. These activities help me recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance while nurturing my relationships.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

One thing that defines me is my love for creativity and self-expression. Whether it's through crafting, painting, or even cooking, I find joy in exploring my creative side and trying new things. This passion not only allows me to unwind and have fun but also reflects my approach to life—embracing curiosity, staying open to new experiences, and appreciating the beauty in everyday moments. It keeps me grounded and reminds me of the importance of creativity, both personally and in my work.
