About
I am a compassionate therapist who brings a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and faith-aware approach to counseling, drawing on my experience working with clients of all ages to create a safe space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal and grow.
I am a licensed graduate professional counselor (LGPC) with 6 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and adults in clinical and school-based settings. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, family conflict, identity concerns, and life transitions. My work focuses on helping clients gain clarity, strengthen resilience, and develop practical tools to navigate everyday challenges.
I earned my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Johns Hopkins University. My clinical approach is cognitive behavioral therapy-focused and trauma-informed, helping clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, build practical coping strategies, and create sustainable behavior change through structured, goal-oriented sessions.
You do not have to navigate this season alone. I offer a collaborative, culturally responsive, and compassionate space where your experiences are honored and your goals guide our work. Together, we will move at your pace to support healing, emotional growth, and renewed hope.

The arm of social justice and the hand of compassion can be used to wash the feet of others.
I am a licensed certified social worker-clinical (LCSW-C) with 22 years of experience providing therapy across a wide range of clinical settings. I have worked with abused and neglected children, individuals experiencing homelessness, crisis intervention teams, and clients seeking faith-based counseling. My work spans individuals, couples, and families, with a strong focus on helping clients navigate trauma, life stressors, and emotional challenges.
I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland. My orientation is grounded in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral theory, and I utilize solution-focused and reality therapy approaches. In cases involving trauma or abuse, I incorporate ego-strengthening techniques to support resilience, healthy adaptation, and emotional functioning.
Clients often respond well to my practical, evidence-based approach to therapy. I strive to provide competent, thoughtful care tailored to your unique needs and goals. If you are seeking a clinician who values collaboration, insight, and meaningful progress, I look forward to supporting you on your therapeutic journey.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

A go-to approach for couples/marriage counseling is understanding that each person has a voice and is valid in their feelings and thoughts. Couples/marriage counseling is about working with both parties wherein each person needs to make changes for the betterment of the whole unit.
Tools taught in couples/marriage counseling are conflict resolution, effective communication, the stress model of crisis (to identify how each member affects the unit), accountability and self-awareness, removing excuses and acceptance for hurtful behaviors, teaching empathy to one another to see each person's perspectives, and creating behavioral plans to change unhealthy habits/behaviors.
Meaningful progress is evaluated when a client expresses that therapeutic work is hard. Nothing worth doing comes easy or is changed in a few sessions. Our brains are lazy…working with a client through changing habits and thought processes takes time, exploration, and practice without judgment.
Complete the homework assigned after every session. Therapeutic work, in my opinion, does not happen exclusively in the sessions, it happens outside of sessions. The therapeutic setting is meant to explore concepts on a deeper level so clients can then make the next step of practicing those skills and concepts in between sessions.
Making the initial step to set up the session is the most important and empowering/strengths-based thing someone can do, albeit scary! To prepare for that first intake, remember, you're a rock star already.
Couples therapy and marriage counseling, also known as relationship counseling, helps couples work through their specific relationship issues. Some examples of common focuses within couples therapy and marriage counseling include:
The types of therapy used in couples and marriage counseling include:
At Thriveworks, Couples/marriage therapy is led by licensed professionals — often licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) — who are experts in their field and best-equipped to help couples.
The Gottman Method of couples therapy is a research-supported approach designed to enhance relationships by bolstering the bond between partners, resolving conflicts, and fostering shared meaning in their relationship through comprehensive assessments and tailored interventions that improve communication, trust, and the overall health of the partnership.
If you’re facing persistent relationship problems, communication breakdowns, or unresolved conflicts that are impacting your emotional well-being and happiness, Couples/marriage therapy may be beneficial for you.
While marriage and couple’s counseling is typically recommended for couples who are experiencing persistent or severe relationship issues, any relationship can benefit from attending these sessions.
Marriage and couples counseling at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend marriage and couples counseling for 12 weeks. However, couples & marriage counseling may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
On average, couples wait six years before getting the help they need. By understanding and recognizing when you and your partner need professional help, you’ll be able to strengthen your relationship and overcome your challenges quicker and more successfully.
