After entering recovery in South Florida, Steven was hired at an adolescent drug treatment center in Florida. From there, he worked several years as a psychiatric hospital drug counselor until moving back to Saint Louis. He then spent several years as a medical assistant in the homeless community, eventually returning to addiction treatment.

Steven treats everyone individually and as “whole cloth” — in other words, not as someone manifesting particular symptoms, but as whole human beings who seek wellness from any dysfunctional difficulties, and as miracles of Creation. Hiroko is also well-published in the field of human-animal interactions, international psychology, and cultural issues.
