About
I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, supported, and empowered to understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful change.
I’m a licensed counselor in New York and Massachusetts with a clinical background working with individuals experiencing substance use challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex family dynamics. I earned my degree from the University at Albany, and I’ve worked extensively with children and families in the foster care system, as well as survivors of sexual abuse and assault. I especially enjoy working with young adults navigating anxiety, depression, and self-esteem concerns, as well as mothers adjusting to motherhood and finding their voice within the family system.
I offer a nonjudgmental, down-to-earth therapeutic space where clients can explore their experiences and better understand how past events shape current thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. My approach is collaborative and supportive, helping motivated clients build self-worth, clarify goals, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
Life doesn’t always unfold the way we expect, and navigating unexpected challenges can feel overwhelming. You don’t have to do it alone. I aim to help clients feel supported, understood, and empowered as they work toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling. I hope this feels like a space where you could begin that work.

Yes, there are therapists who help with anger via Anger management therapy. It’s a therapeutic process that an individual goes through to manage their anger and identify its triggers. They’re given clear instructions on how to improve their angry behavior as well as a safe space for opening up about their emotions.
Once an individual’s triggers are identified, anger management therapy focuses on helping the individual process and respond to these emotions in a more positive and productive manner. The anger management therapist will provide coping strategies and ultimately help their client take back control of their anger.
The five keys to mastering anger include identifying triggers, pausing before reacting, calmly expressing emotions, discovering constructive outlets for frustration, and seeking professional assistance if necessary. Acquiring these skills through Anger management therapy empowers individuals to effectively manage and navigate their anger.
The best therapy for anger management often involves cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps individuals identify and change patterns of thinking and behavior related to anger.
Anger management therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
Often, Anger management therapy lasts between 4-6 weeks. However, it can last longer, dependent on the individual’s needs.
When people achieve their goals, they gain a feeling of satisfaction and the material benefits that it may bring. The need for a sense of control is satisfied. Sometimes when things don’t go as planned, people become frustrated. When stuck in traffic jams, people don’t have control and they can become annoyed and unbalanced.
However, some people become so outraged over events they can’t control that they vent their anger verbally, such as cursing and yelling. When drivers display verbal anger on the road— “road rage”—they are reacting in a way that is more aggressive than is necessary for the situation. Other types of verbal abuse include temper tantrums, bullying, intimidation, and brow beating. The results for people who frequently display verbal anger can be divorce, a lawsuit, loss of friends, and warnings by human resource professionals or management at work. These consequences can be devastating.

Self-inflicted Anger. The anger is directed toward the person and may be caused by feelings of guilt.
Judgmental Anger. This type of anger is directed toward others and may also be associated with feelings of resentment.
Volatile Anger. The anger involves sometimes spontaneous periods of excessive or violent rage.
