Kimberly England, CMHC, LPC

Philosophy of Care

For the past 15 years, I have worked with a diverse population in both in-patient and out-patient therapeutic settings. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, trauma in attachment, trauma, loss, grief, depression, eating disordered traits, perfectionism, ADHD, LGBTQ issues, and relationship struggles. I am certified in and utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and find the approach effective as it allows the element of choice as well as the availability of insight not often found in traditional therapeutic approaches. I also has a strong background and training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO DBT), Brainspotting, Mindfulness based therapeutic approach, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

With my clients I value, above all else, the therapeutic alliance and incorporate unconditional positive regard. I have found that the reason I love what I do is based on the recompense that comes from supporting others with internally developing a better understanding of both who they are and what they want or need to find internalized or long-term happiness and success. This approach requires patience and understanding as well as a commitment to a long-term relationship.

I believe we can all benefit from counseling or with meeting with a mental health therapist. If you are struggling with any number of things whether it be working to save your relationship or healing from a trauma or loss counseling can promote your healing and build strength. I support my clients with first identifying and next changing patterns within their lives which lead to continued or increased pain and suffering in one form or another.
