About
As a woman of color, I understand how unfairness and stigma surrounding mental health can create barriers to care for vulnerable populations. I am here to help reduce those barriers and improve access to compassionate, equitable mental health care.
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 5 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals across the lifespan. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, insomnia, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. My approach centers on supporting stability, wellness, and improved quality of life through thoughtful, individualized care.
I earned my master’s degree in nursing from Purdue University Global. My clinical work includes conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, reviewing health histories, and developing personalized treatment plans. I prioritize patient education, collaboration, and ongoing assessment to ensure care remains effective and responsive to each person’s needs.
I understand that managing mental health concerns can feel overwhelming, and you do not have to do it alone. I focus on building strong therapeutic relationships, openly discussing treatment options, and adjusting care as needed. If you are ready to take the next step, I invite you to schedule an appointment so we can work together toward long-term wellness.

As one who has experienced personal stress and heartache, I have a true understanding of how we are affected by painful life experiences and how acquiring new skills can encourage us once again.
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with 16 years of experience in the mental health field. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and complex trauma. My background includes work in intensive care, hospice, and correctional health, which gives me a well-rounded perspective on resilience, crisis, and long-term healing.
I earned my Master of Science in nursing from Northern Kentucky University and have experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I take a whole-person approach to care, creating personalized treatment plans that address not only symptoms but also the underlying factors contributing to emotional distress.
I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and empowered. Together, we will build a clear and realistic path toward lasting wellness. You do not have to navigate this alone—I look forward to supporting you in your next chapter.

Psychiatry allows people struggling to manage mental conditions or disorders to get access to medications that will make daily functioning easier, as well as work through any mental factors that might be causing or worsening their condition. Though medications can’t cure mental disorders, medication can make symptoms more manageable, making the process of psychotherapeutic treatment easier and more effective. Psychiatric care can be available through in-person psychiatry and online psychiatry, depending on where you live and your own preferences. However, psychiatric providers at Thriveworks in Fort Wayne, IN specifically offer online psychiatry to their clients.
A therapist has an education specifically rooted in therapeutic practice, approaches, techniques, and treatment. They cannot prescribe medications for clients, though they often refer clients to psychiatrists for medication management. Psychiatrists are medically trained doctors who specialize in mental health treatment, mainly through medication management and prescription, though they can also practice therapy.
A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a highly trained and licensed professional who specializes in mental health care. They are qualified to diagnose and treat mental health conditions, prescribe medications, and provide therapy. Psychiatric NPs at Thriveworks are qualified to prescribe medications for a variety of mental health conditions. They work closely with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Oftentimes, psychiatrists or psychiatric professionals will perform a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which involves an in-depth discussion about your symptoms, medical history, and current medications. Once they reach a diagnosis, they may suggest starting certain medications depending on your condition and the intensity of your symptoms.
