Starting Online therapy in Pasadena

What is online therapy?

With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.

How does online therapy work?

Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.

What is the best option for online therapy?

There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.

Is online therapy just as effective?

Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.

How long does online therapy last?

Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.

How much does online therapy cost?

At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.

Need more help deciding?

With online therapy at Thriveworks in Pasadena, TX, you can also connect with a therapist or counselor, no matter where. As long as you’ve got reliable internet access and somewhere private to talk, getting high-quality mental health care has never been easier.

At Thriveworks Pasadena:

  • Online therapy is safe and secure: We abide by the strictest HIPAA regulations to protect your privacy and personal information.
  • Online therapy is effective: Online therapy provides the same level of professionalism and attention as an in-person session.

We’ve streamlined the therapy experience just for you; so whether you’re a couple seeking relationship guidance or a parent aiming to close the distance between those in your family, our online therapists have the skills and empathy needed to help you feel better.

Should I See an Online Therapist?

Everyone’s mental health needs and circumstances are different, but we still believe that anyone can benefit from talking with a therapist or counselor. No matter your age or background, our mental health professionals can help you. When it comes to their role in improving your mental health, therapists act as supporting acts and guides, listening actively to your feedback; your story and perspective are what shapes your treatment process.

One of the benefits of talking with a mental health professional is that they can diagnose and help treat different mental health conditions that you may have. Symptoms of different conditions may vary from person to person, but signs of potential issues might manifest themselves as:

  • An unusually short temper
  • Fatigue or insomnia
  • Lack of interest in sex
  • Lack of interest in hobbies, relationships, or social gatherings
  • Persistent feelings of loneliness and sadness
  • Paranoia

These are only a few of the ways that undiagnosed mental health conditions might manifest. And instead of trying to self-diagnose, it’s better instead to consult one of our mental health professionals, someone who’s qualified to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health conditions.

How Can an Online Therapist Help Me?

Therapists can also work with you to address specific situations that may be causing you distress, including:

  • Anxiety-inducing events in your personal life
  • Relationship or marital issues
  • Depression, or feelings of loneliness
  • Intense feelings of grief or anger

If the issue or problem that you’re faced with isn’t listed, our Thriveworks team in Pasadena, TX will do their best to help you find a mental health treatment plan that fits your situation and personal preferences. With the assistance of an online therapist, you can develop coping strategies and management techniques that make dealing with life’s difficult situations a little easier.

And for families and couples, online therapy can be a great way to prioritize your relationship, even if you’re living separately. Family and couples therapy can be a reality through virtual sessions—reconnect and establish healthy communication with the guidance of an online therapist.
