Katie Harrison is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of experience working with clients of all ages who come from a multitude of ethnic backgrounds. She helps treat individuals, families, and couples, too; and specializes in helping her clients to cope with anxiety, trauma, depression, and addiction.
Katie utilizes an eclectic blend of motivational enhancement, mindfulness-based techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and behavioral modification when creating a treatment plan with each client. In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), she also has her Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor license (CSAC), has been trained in the Gottman family therapy method, and is a Critical Incident Responder (CIR).
Katie's open, straightforward approach helps people feel comfortable building trust and allowing growth to occur. Katie understands the symptoms, decisions, and consequences of mental health struggles. She feels it is important to not only build trust but also encourage openness when working with a client. Katie believes it is important to meet the client where they are at in their journey and to form a team-like relationship to help the client achieve the goals they identify.
