About
As a therapist, my personal experiences, combined with work in schools and as a first responder, have deepened my understanding of the profound impact of trauma and stress. This understanding ignites my passion to create a space where others feel seen, supported, and empowered to navigate challenges and move towards healing and growth.
I am a licensed professional counselor who works with individuals looking for support, clarity, and a way to move forward. Life can feel overwhelming—especially when past experiences, trauma, anxiety, or stress affect how you see yourself and your future. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported as we work through those challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct, and I believe therapy works best when it feels like a true partnership. I use a blend of CBT, EMDR, and person-centered therapy to help clients process trauma, understand patterns, and develop practical tools.
In our work together, we will focus on both understanding your experiences and building a clear path forward. I enjoy helping clients recognize their strengths, build confidence, and take manageable steps toward the life they want.
I provide telehealth therapy, offering flexible and accessible support for individuals who are ready to heal, grow, and move forward.

My approach for treating PTSD/trauma is helping the client identify current triggers as well as possible past trauma that contributes to the symptoms. I am gently curious while making connections to help the client understand their issues as well as identifying resiliency factors. I also assess if a referral to a psychiatrist is appropriate.
We focus on deep breathing multiple times during the session and also practice internal and external awareness, healthy distraction, social connection, and positive self-talk. I use CBT and DBT techniques, encourage empowerment and independence, and maintain focus on the client's personal goals.
When clients are making progress, they are often more aware of the impact of their trauma on their well-being, have improved symptom management, and have developed healthy coping skills. They are more open and accepting of other people and have more confidence in themselves overall.
Using the time between therapy sessions to practice new cognitions and behaviors is an important part of recovery. I like to suggest reading, journaling, a creative pursuit, and a physical pursuit. Developing a social connection or rebuilding a relationship is always encouraged.
For their first session/assessment, clients can be prepared to answer a wide variety of questions that might bring up painful memories or issues. Please be open and honest with the therapist about how you are feeling. Generally, the therapist is looking for broad strokes in the first session and probably doesn't need to go into painful events with much depth. Overall, just take a deep breath and be open and honest about the problems you are experiencing.

If a client is working through a single traumatic event that occurred as an adult, trauma or PTSD therapy may only take a few months, but in general, it can take a year or more to effectively treat trauma symptoms and PTSD. The duration of treatment is highly dependent on the client and the severity of their symptoms.
