What Is the Difference Between Therapy, Counseling, and Psychiatry?
Therapy, provided by our counselors and therapists, addresses emotional and behavioral challenges using therapeutic techniques for mental well-being. Counseling, offered by counselors or therapists, focuses on specific issues and life adjustments, while psychiatry, led by our psychiatric nurse practitioners, involves diagnosing and treating mental health conditions with medication.
What Are the Types of Therapists You Can See?
While availability may vary, at Thriveworks Counseling & Therapy Henderson, we offer:
- Certified Professional Counselors (CPCs): Trained to provide mental health counseling.
- Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs): Specialized in social work and counseling for individuals, families, and groups.
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs): Focused on relationship and family-related issues.
When you connect with a provider at Thriveworks, you’ll be sharing your experience with an industry-leading expert; someone with the experience and professional insight you need to move forward.

How Does Counseling and Therapy Work at Thriveworks Counseling & Therapy Henderson?
At Thriveworks Counseling & Therapy Henderson, we only work with the top mental health professionals. You can be sure to receive the most comprehensive plan of care every step of the way.
To ensure this, your provider will assess your needs and struggles to provide you with a customized treatment plan. This plan will cover a variety of therapeutic techniques and methods to help you achieve things like better communication skills, coping mechanisms, stress management techniques, and more.
At our office, we also provide our clients with both in-person and online counseling options. If you choose online counseling, you can pick between video counseling. You will also get to choose which counselor you’d prefer to work with in-person and online therapy—if you have a preference.
In any instance, our team members are excited to get the chance to work with you.
Life Coaching: Personal and Professional Fulfillment
Life coaching is another valuable mental health service, which can help you with personal and professional fulfillment. Mental health conditions aren’t the only problems that can throw our mental health off balance. If you are lacking personal or professional success/fulfillment, you can benefit from mental health help, too.
Life coaches help their clients achieve more. They help them to identify areas of their life that they’d like to change or improve and then they help them do it. While anyone can technically refer to themselves as a life coach, the life coaches at Thriveworks are certified mental health professionals. You can trust them to offer real, valuable professional help and guidance.
