Need more help deciding?

Relationships aren’t always going to be perfect. In reality, most relationships are full of ups, downs, and in-betweens. The early stage of your relationship was likely full of good times and excitement as you and your partner got to know one another better. But over time, maybe you noticed that a number of situations and factors outside of your control started impacting your relationship.

Maybe you’re fighting more about your finances. Maybe you or your partner recently lost a loved one and you haven’t really talked in weeks. Or maybe you notice your partner is spending more time on their phone than ever before. When resolving conflict becomes impossible without fighting, or you feel like your relationship is strained, it’s okay to reach out and ask for help. Couples therapy and marriage counseling can help you and your partner identify potential problems in your relationship and give you the tools, resources, and coping skills to work through them.

If you are struggling to find balance in your relationship, a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) can act as a mediator and support system to help you through the rough patches. Call our Thriveworks Counseling center at Flowood, MS or use our online booking portal to schedule your first counseling session today.

Should We Consider Couples Therapy or Marriage Counseling?

Couples therapy and marriage counseling can help repair what feels broken in your relationship to help strengthen your bond. • Stress caused by issues outside of the relationship
  • Behavioral problems in children
  • Conflict resolution
  • Financial issues

How Can Couples Counseling Help Us?

A relationship does not have to be in crisis mode in order to benefit from couples therapy or marriage counseling. Couples therapy helps people work through the day-to-day issues that can impact a relationship while also working to resolve larger problems as well.

A couples therapist will help you and your partner prevent future conflicts by showing you valuable ways to finetune your connection with one another. They will walk you through different ways to improve your communication and your ability to identify and rectify potential problems. Skills like active listening and efficient problem-solving will help you work as a team as you navigate life together.

Couples therapy can help to improve your love life, but it can also enhance other areas of your life as well. It can help you maintain a positive relationship with family members and friends, improve your own mental health, and can motivate you to do better at your job as well. You will begin to see an improvement in your mental health, as well as your outlook on life.

Thriveworks helped me realize that I do believe people can change. I’m not the person I was three months ago, broken and fearful. I’m healthy and happy and for the first time being kind to myself. Thank you for giving me my life back.
