Mary Alice Fields is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has 30 years of experience counseling couples, families, and individuals. Mary Alice completed her Master of Education (MEd) at Lindsey Wilson College.
Mary Alice believes most people do the best they can with the knowledge and experience they possess. At times in our lives, our knowledge and experience are not enough to solve problems and live our most productive life. At times like this, collaboration with a licensed professional counselor can help us discover ways to solve issues and achieve our full potential. Changing our perception of issues can be most helpful. By adjusting our thought process, we can begin to see our problems in a new light, and discover solutions to seemingly insurmountable issues.
Again, collaboration with a counselor can assist in this process. Old thought patterns can be replaced with new, healthier thought patterns that help us live our best life. The most important thing necessary to get you on your way to a more productive life is an open mind and a willingness to change. As a counselor, Mary Alice is your partner in ushering in this change. She cannot solve your problems, but she can and will assist you in learning new ways to achieve your goals.

Abel Juarez is a Resident in Counseling who specializes in depression, anger, anxiety, relationships, and addiction. In life, there will be obstacles and complications that can interrupt and affect how individuals cope with negative as well as positive outcomes. These outcomes can influence a person's thought process and have the ability to make them feel overwhelmed, powerless, and anxious. In counseling, these challenges can be handled in a manner in which individuals, couples, and families can address and begin to understand how such difficulties can result in the present situations.
"I am passionate about aiding those in difficult situations to focus on their strengths and build on them," says Abel. "In this, the counseling process becomes an understanding of several issues instead of focusing on the negative aspects that people find themselves in. Therefore, progress can move forward and the client and I can begin to address the issues at heart.
Furthermore, counseling sessions are a nonjudgmental arena in which the client is not thought of in a negative light. Being that, everyone experiences life and reacts to circumstances both negatively and positively. The extent of this reaction is where counseling starts to help those in need of a better understanding of how they conduct themselves."

Lynn Lemon is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 5 years of clinical experience working with adults in the mental health field. Lynn has experience with individuals diagnosed with anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, substance abuse disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
She received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Lynn’s therapeutic approach, although eclectic, is greatly influenced by Psychodynamic theory. Each client comes to therapy with different needs and Lynn collaborates with them developing a unique treatment plan.
She believes in order to move forward one must look within and to the past to uncover obstacles preventing change. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is also used to assist the client in changing negative thought patterns and exposure therapy is also used to overcome the avoidance of situations causing anxiety.
Lynn believes everyone has value and is capable of living the life they dream of. The environment that one is raised in greatly influences how one feels about themselves and interacts with others. There are unconscious patterns that play a role in one’s ability to make choices that will take them from where they are, to where they want to be. To identify the maladaptive automatic responses is the key to growth and to live the life of ones dreams.

Robb is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who manages and treats a wide range of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, family difficulties, school issues, sleep/insomnia, work-related stress, and many more challenges that everyday Americans face. He is passionate about providing quality, compassionate, concise, and nonjudgmental mental health services to clients of all ages. As a PMHNP, Robb's role is multifaceted, including educator, mental health advocate, therapist, and medication manager. While working in psychiatric hospitals, Robb has learned how to listen to his patients the way he wants to be listened to when he sees his own personal physician. Robb makes it his goal to include the patient in every step of the decision-making process to individually tailor the patient's treatment plan to their needs. Whether it is medication management, therapy, or a coordinated effort with the patient's personal healthcare providers, Robb wants to deliver the fastest, easiest, and most effective results that he can for his clients.
Robb completed his Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) at East Tennessee State University and began his medical career as a Patient Care Tech over 20 years ago. Robb possesses strong clinical skills and a natural ability to build rapport with patients and families. Robb is frequently appointed as a teacher and is given the responsibility of orienting new nurses at every hospital and facility he has ever worked in, including East Tennessee State University. The same genuine nature and approachability that make him a good teacher are what make it easy for Robb's patients to talk to him. Robb believes that the best tool every mental health provider has available to them is their ears. He knows that if he really listens to his patients, then with his training he can give them the best possible care they can receive. In addition to medication management, he incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) along with culturally sensitive, emotionally focused, faith-based, patient-centered techniques into his patient's treatment.
Life is hard. And the reason that Robb is the best provider to help you is that he has not only lived through life's tough challenges, but he has also learned what it means to listen when others are experiencing them. Robb has spent the last 4 years treating patients struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, PTSD, occupationally-related stress, phobias, faith struggles, sudden states of panic, and even very intense schizophrenia in people of all ages and all walks of life. When in a session with Robb, you will not feel judged, you will not feel embarrassed, and you will not feel stupid; but most importantly you will feel like you are being heard. Eating disorder therapy is a specialized approach aimed at assisting those who are grappling with a range of eating disorders. These disorders are significant mental health conditions characterized by irregular or unhealthy eating patterns and an intense focus on body weight and shape. Common conditions addressed in Eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
At Thriveworks, Eating disorders begins with a thorough assessment and personalized treatment plan. Central to eating disorder therapy is psychotherapy, often employing cognitive behavioral therapy and other specialized techniques to target negative thought patterns.
The signs of an eating disorder can include:
CBT’s remission rate, according to some research, is generally between 50-30% for those seeking assistance for eating disorder symptoms.
The recovery rate for those seeking assistance with eating disorders depends entirely on the individual’s involvement in sessions, the severity of their symptoms, and their willingness to change their eating habits and relationship with food.
Eating disorder therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The length of Eating disorders will vary from one person to the next, dependent on their specific needs. Your therapist can help to determine what might be most beneficial for you.
There is nothing simple about anorexia and bulimia. The reasons behind these eating disorders are also complex. What was previously thought of as just a result of low-esteem and obsession over one’s body image actually has deeper causes and reasons.
So what triggers the risks?
