Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I took an introductory psychology course in high school and quickly knew I wanted to be in the field. I went to college and received my undergraduate degree in counseling and my master's degree in the same subject. I never wavered once from my desire to help others. I now have the opportunity to walk alongside someone during their journey and help them reach their goals. I feel honored every day to be in my position.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks always puts the client first! I appreciate their flexible hours, options for in-person or telehealth sessions, and providing clients with psychiatry and therapy. They really do provide people with a better approach to counseling and I am proud to be part of this community.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
My goal is for clients to feel comfortable enough to share as little or as much of their story as they would like. Coming to counseling can be anxiety-inducing and I want to provide a space for clients to feel safe enough to share their concerns and goals for counseling.
