Thriveworks expands its New Jersey mental health services, launching in-person psychiatry in five clinics across the state

Paramus, NJ, August 19, 2026 – Thriveworks, one of New Jersey’s leading providers of mental health services, has expanded its psychiatry services in New Jersey to include in-person care, now available at five locations statewide: Paramus, Cherry Hill, Edison, Toms River and Red Bank.

Thriveworks, which has served communities across New Jersey with mental health services for over 18 years, launched in-person psychiatry as a way to provide its patients with greater options for psychiatry, or integrated talk therapy and medication management.

The launch also coincides with the implementation of requirements governing the prescribing of certain controlled medications through telehealth which include in-person for initial appointments and follow-ups every three months for most Schedule II controlled substances. Thriveworks’ in-person expansion gives New Jersey patients the option to receive psychiatric care in person when required or desired, while continuing to use virtual appointments when clinically appropriate

Thriveworks CEO, Dr. Dan Frogel, said, “For too long, trying to access psychiatric care in New Jersey has meant long waitlists, steep out-of-pocket costs or, just going without. When the new regulations came into effect, we knew even more people would be left without access to the medications they need to function at their best, so leveraging our existing footprint  in the state we were able to operationalize quickly to set up in-person psychiatry. We’re proud to offer New Jersey residents with a pathway for fast, high-quality psychiatry services that are covered by most of the state’s major insurance providers.” s

In-person psychiatry through Thriveworks is available at clinics in Paramus, Cherry Hill, Edison, Toms River, Red Bank. Thriveworks offers flexible appointments, including evenings and weekends, with the first appointment typically within 5–7 days, versus the national average wait of six weeks. Patients can choose from a variety of providers to find the best match. Thriveworks is in-network with most major insurance providers in the state, and offers self-pay options, with no membership or hidden fees. Psychiatry services can also be integrated with talk therapy for an more holistic treatment.
