I think people avoid me, because they don’t like me or even hate me. I’m afraid to talk to other kids at school for fear they’ll just walk away or ignore me. I even think my brothers and sisters really don’t care for me, either. I don’t know what I’m doing to make everybody hate me, and I don’t even really like myself, either.
There is no evidence to support that people hate you or dislike you. This is a harmful misbelief, and you should adopt more positive thinking. Perhaps you’re just a quiet individual and people are reluctant to approach you. Also, it’s very unlikely that you’re own family members dislike you. They love you. And if you want to strengthen your bond with them then you need to be proactive in doing so. Do your best to open up and be more outgoing—doing so will help you make friends and strengthen your already existing relationships. Stop being so hard on yourself.
