Hi, I'm Adrianna Garcia, MSW, LCSWA, in North Carolina with experience in behavioral health, healthcare, and community-based settings. Before becoming a therapist, I was a student-athlete, which gave me a personal understanding of pressure, discipline, balance, confidence, and resilience. I work with teens and adults who may be dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, low motivation, or feeling overwhelmed and stuck. Many are looking for a safe and supportive space to talk, better ways to cope, and guidance as they work toward feeling more confident, balanced, and in control of their lives.

My approach is supportive, practical, and centered around you. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing to help you build coping skills and create realistic goals for change. Therapy with me is a comfortable, judgment-free space where we work at a pace that feels right for you.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you're already carrying a lot. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and comfortable throughout. You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. If you're ready to work toward positive change and a healthier, more balanced life, I invite you to schedule an appointment.

"I believe, like in anime, growth happens when we keep moving forward—even when the next step feels difficult."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a therapist because I have always been drawn to helping others feel heard, supported, and understood. My background as a studentathlete also taught me how important it is to have support when dealing with pressure, stress, self-doubt, and major life changes. I wanted to create that same kind of supportive space for others. Becoming a therapist allows me to help people better understand themselves, work through challenges, build confidence, and develop healthier ways to cope and move forward.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with teens, adults, and studentathletes experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, low confidence, or feeling overwhelmed. I enjoy helping clients build coping skills, confidence, and healthier ways to move forward.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Healing takes time, and progress does not always happen in a straight line. Therapy is a space to be honest, grow at your own pace, and celebrate small steps along the way.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In the first session, we will get to know each other, talk about what brought you to therapy, and discuss your goals. Early sessions will focus on building trust, understanding your needs, and creating a plan that feels comfortable and realistic for you.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My experience as a student-athlete taught me the value of discipline, resilience, balance, and having a strong support system. I bring those values into therapy by creating a supportive, respectful space where clients can feel heard, build confidence, and work toward meaningful change.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor therapy by getting to know each client’s goals, strengths, challenges, and preferences. I adjust my approach and pace so therapy feels supportive, practical, and relevant to what each person needs.
