Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Originally, I pursued psychology and psychology courses in college for inner reflection and my own healing journey and I was fortunate enough to find my passion.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I’ve found that I work well with a wide range of people. Both my personal and professional experiences have taught me that everyone’s situation is unique, which is why I avoid a “cookie-cutter” approach to counseling. I believe clients appreciate this flexibility and respond well to the individualized support it allows me to offer.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I enjoy working with clients from all backgrounds—my experience has given me the opportunity to support individuals with a wide variety of needs. There’s no single type of client I prefer; what truly motivates me is seeing any client’s progress and being part of their journey.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Therapy is work, it takes time and effort, but what is great is that you don't have to be and do it alone.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I love counseling directly with clients and Thriveworks accommodates my needs for remote work and schedule to ensure I can have a good work-life balance while still being the most efficient for clients.
What inspires you?
Hoping that one day, something I may have helped someone with will have lightened their load in some way. Others have done that for me in the past, and those small things were blessings.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A very informal meeting-- getting to know each of them individually, building and developing trust over time, discussing their background, goals, and needs. I allow clients to set the pace they are comfortable with and work with them from there.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I focus on building trust and offering support, while gathering information about each person’s background, stressors, needs, and goals—at whatever pace they feel comfortable sharing.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
My role is simply to support you on your journey—not to judge or make things harder. This is your time and your process, and I’m here to help you work toward your goals in whatever way feels right for you.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy my two fur babies: Coco and Ruby
