Kaye Love is an extremely insightful therapist! She is well-versed in world spiritualities, and is both capable of and comfortable in talking about mystical experiences. I think this is quite unusual in a counselor! Kaye has insights into human relationships, grieving, physical, psychological, and spiritual cravings, and much more. I not only would feel enthusiastic about recommending her to a friend, I actually have recommended her! I am blessed to be able to confide in her and grow through her counsel. Sally M.

Get to know Janet Kaye

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

Throughout my life people have often shared their stories and challenges with me, and expressed a sense of relief, and gratitude for being seen and heard. Eventually I recognized that this was a gift, and pursued professional skills to better utilize it. I am honored to be a part of the growth of my clients.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with clients who desire to be active participants in making the changes they want to see, and are willing to explore strategies and provide feedback on what is most effective for them.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

All challenges offer an opportunity for positive personal transformation. What happens to us can become what happened for us.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I chose Thriveworks because I was impressed by the focus on quality of care.

What inspires you?

Getting to be a part of people's journeys to become happier and more successful is inspiring.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

In the first session I focus on understanding my client's strengths as well as their challenges.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I strive to identify strategies to implement that will initiate movement toward the client's goals.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Performance Advocacy; I participate in the Speaking Advocates program and production of the podcast "True Tales of Disability Advocates" through Art Spark Texas, and am an Actor with Tilt Performance Group, both are disability related non-profits. In the past I performed as a Comedian in Stand Up For Mental Health, and a Troupe member of Actual Lives Austin. I am also in the process of developing an Interfaith Inclusion Ministry as a Minister in connection with the Interfaith Temple of New York and am excited about the possibility assisting communities with increasing the accessibility of their theology/philosophy, education, volunteer opportunities, and facilities.

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

The ability to find a positive perspective on challenging situations.
