About Shauna
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 9 years of experience supporting individuals on their journey toward healing and personal growth. I help clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions while fostering greater self-awareness, emotional stability, and healthier relationships. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore new paths toward balance and resilience. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practices.
I earned a Master’s in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed CBT, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions to promote lasting emotional healing.
I believe everyone has the strength to heal and create meaningful change. My role is to walk beside you with compassion and honesty as you rediscover your sense of purpose and peace. If you’re ready to begin your journey toward growth, I invite you to take the next step toward emotional wellness, and I look forward to working with you.

"I believe healing happens in a space where you feel accepted just as you are."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose this profession because I’m drawn to understanding people on a deeper level and supporting them through life’s most difficult moments. I find fulfillment in helping others grow, heal, and rediscover hope.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adults who are motivated to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions and want to develop healthier coping skills, strengthen relationships, and rediscover balance in their lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish everyone knew that therapy isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s an act of courage and self-awareness. Seeking support doesn’t mean something is wrong with you; it means you’re choosing to heal, grow, and show up for yourself. Therapy is a space for understanding, empowerment, and breaking free from the patterns that no longer serve you.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In your first session, you can expect a warm, collaborative environment where we take time to get to know one another. I’ll ask about your history, your goals for therapy, and any challenges you’d like to address. We’ll also discuss confidentiality and how the therapeutic process works so you know exactly what to expect. In the early stages, therapy focuses on developing safety, trust, and clarity — helping you understand the patterns that shape your emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Together, we’ll begin working toward healing, growth, and meaningful change.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My values as a therapist are grounded in empathy, respect, and the belief that healing begins with safety and connection. I’ve witnessed how trauma and stress can shape people’s sense of self, and I’m passionate about helping clients reclaim their voice and rebuild trust in themselves. My approach is informed by both professional training and a deep appreciation for human resilience.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Every person’s story is different, so I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I tailor each session to meet the client where they are — emotionally, mentally, and in their stage of healing. Some clients benefit from structured tools like CBT or DBT skills, while others need space for reflection, storytelling, or processing trauma through EMDR. I listen closely to each client’s goals and pace, adjusting the process so it feels supportive, empowering, and truly personal.
