Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a therapist because I have always been drawn to understanding people and supporting them through difficult seasons of life. I believe that being heard, understood, and supported in a safe relationship can be deeply healing. Therapy allows me to walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate challenges and create healthier ways of connecting with themselves and others.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that seeking help is a sign of strength, and that even small steps in therapy can lead to meaningful change and greater understanding of yourself and your relationships.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, we focus on understanding your challenges and setting goals. Early on, I help clients feel safe, build trust, and start learning practical ways to manage emotions and strengthen relationships.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is informed by both my professional training and my personal experiences as a parent. I deeply value empathy, patience, and connection, and I’ve seen firsthand how supportive relationships can help children, teens, and families navigate challenges and grow.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by listening carefully to each client’s experiences, strengths, and goals. I choose activities that fit their age, personality, and situation, and I work closely with families to ensure the approach feels supportive, practical, and meaningful for everyone involved.
