Elizabeth is extremely professional, yet very relatable in explaining scenarios, and that helps create an action plan when my emotions are mess rather just talking about a problem....

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I knew since I was a child that I had a gift for empathy, seeing the bigger picture and making people feel at ease, validated and understood. I wanted to use these gifts and what I have learned from my life experiences, as well as my education, to help others who might be struggling with how to navigate life's challenges and any difficulties they may be facing.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I enjoy clients who are not afraid to incorporate a bit of humor into their healing process. Additionally, I work best with clients who are ready to do the work that it takes to create healthy change and new ways of thinking even though it can be scary and uncomfortable at times.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I did not get to where I am today without my own fair share of struggles and difficult life experiences. I would like my clients to know that just because I am a mental health counselor does not mean that I know it all or that I am the expert. It just means that I have learned the necessary tools and how to implement those tools in helpful ways to facilitate healing and navigate challenges.
What inspires you?
It inspires me to see people that go for it and do not let fear of failure hold them back.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In our first session we will do an intake and the client will need to answer a few questions so that I can get a picture of who they are as a complete and whole individual. We will also focus on the reason they made the appointment and what they would like to get out of therapy.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In my first session with a client it is most important to me that the client feel comfortable and heard. I want the client to feel hopeful that with my help they can accomplish the goals that they will create for themselves during our next session.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I play tennis and watch trashy reality tv shows.
