About Suzanna
Suzanna Hodges is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly 30 years of experience. In this time, Suzanna has worked with adults of all ages to address depression, anxiety and panic, grief, health concerns, borderline personality disorder, family and relationship issues, and substance abuse. She values collaboration with her clients to discover solutions tailored to fit their situations and needs.
Suzanna graduated with her Master's degree in Social Work in 1996 from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has experience in inpatient psychiatric care, substance abuse, and individual therapy. Suzanna utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy among other modalities.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I've always enjoyed helping others solve their problems. I have been able to find my career path that helps me find meaning and purpose.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I enjoy working with anyone that desires to make positive changes in their life.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I have always loved a good challenge and working with people that have unique and challenging backgrounds.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Learning new skills to manage things in your life can be hard, and I'll be there to help you get through.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I'm inspired by those clients that are able to make hard changes in their lives.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
During the first session it will be important to get background information regarding childhood, relationships, and school/work/daily life. We will work together to decide what concerns/issues should be addressed first.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
It may be scary to start therapy and that's ok. We will work together to address your needs.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Spending time with my family, riding the Indian motorcycle with my husband and friends, gardening, and walking my dog.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. Family is an important part of my life.
