Get to know Susan
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that they are unique and important individuals that all have a positive contribution to make to the world around them.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose Thriveworks due to the flexibility of the schedule and the ability to work from home. This approach helps me enjoy more time with my family instead of driving in Houston traffic!
What inspires you?
I am inspired by people who are determined to overcome adversity and use obstacles as learning experiences.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session will be spent getting to know the client and their needs. I will ask some background questions to help me understand where they are and factors that may influence where they are and how they got here. This also helps to identify any potential obstacles or barriers to treatment. The therapist and client will work together to formulate goals and an effective plan of treatment for reaching those goals.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, I would like to establish trust and an open and honest relationship with individuals. I hope to leave them excited to attend the next session
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am open minded and don't judge people for their problems or their life's situation.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I like to spend time with my family and attend musicals, concerts, or live music events.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am an honest person with integrity to do the right thing.
