About Rachel
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 25 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s many transitions. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, parenting, women’s issues, relationships, ADHD, and autism. My goal is to foster insight and behavioral change while helping clients understand how past experiences influence current challenges.
I have a Master’s in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. My approach is person-centered and guided by the belief that everyone possesses the capacity for growth. I use evidence-based techniques, including cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies, to help clients create structure, balance, and effective coping strategies.
I am passionate about creating a safe, empathetic, and collaborative space where clients feel heard and supported. I believe in using compassion and empathy to help clients navigate life’s challenges. Together, we’ll work toward healing, resilience, and lasting mental wellness.

"My approach is grounded in the belief that our identities and experiences shape how we see the world, and that healing and growth begin when we feel safe enough to explore and honor all parts of ourselves."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a mental health counselor because I've always been drawn to understanding people's stories and helping them feel seen, valued and capable of change. My goal is to help others feel empowered to understand themselves and build a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are open to self-reflection and want to understand deeper patterns behind their thoughts, feelings and relationships. I appreciate when clients are willing to try strategies between sessions and use therapy as a space to build confidence and problem-solving skills.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Therapy is hard work , but its also deeply rewarding. Growth often happens when we face discomfort with honesty and courage-and you don't have to do it alone.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first step is getting to know you and together work to create a safe space where you feel supported as you face challenges, gain insight and build new ways of coping.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
A personal value I believe in is that meaningful change begins with feeling understood. I deeply value each person's right to make choices in their own life. I aim to empower clients so they can explore their experiences honestly and feel accepted through the therapeutic process.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I meet each client where they are-consider their personality , goals cultural background and readiness for change. My goal is to create the right balance of support and challenge for each unique, individual client.
