Get to know Lisa
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My decision to become a therapist was so that I could help others navigate through their life setbacks or challenges.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients that are willing to do the work required to overcome their challenges. Being vulnerable is where it begins.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients that come into session and tell you this is what’s going on and this is what I need to work on.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I want any potential client to know that counseling is a safe place.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to work for Thriveworks because they provide administrative support that allows me to focus on the clients.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the ability to help others. The most rewarding thing to experience is when you see someone navigate through their challenges.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
During the first session, a client can expect to know that they are in a safe place and can be vulnerable and that we can begin to explore how to navigate through the challenges.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
During the first session, establishing a therapeutic relationship is the first goal in session.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a first session, a client should know that they will be paired with someone that is skilled and prepared to listen.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
During my time off, I like to enjoy time with my grandchildren.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I would say that I am defined by my faith and my values.
