About Linda
Linda Farias is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience working in behavioral health units and providing group therapy and individual counseling. She specializes in helping adults and seniors struggling with mental stress, bipolar disorder, life transitions, depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma.
Linda received her Master of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University. She combines her rich background with evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and mindfulness techniques.
Linda believes in meeting new clients where they are and collaborating to define and develop issues, strengths, coping skills, and goals. She invites you to take the first steps toward a better tomorrow and reach out to schedule an appointment.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have am passionate about helping others identify their unique strengths and use these strengths to improve their lives and achieve their goals.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with adults who are around 23 or older and who are struggling with navigating life's challenges including individuals who are diagnosed with depression, and anxiety.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with individuals who are struggling with symptoms of depression and daily life stressors.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I want all clients to know that they have unique strengths and if they are not aware of their strengths we will discover them together in therapy.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I choose Thriveworks because they offer an array of services including psychiatry and medication management. I think it is beneficial for clients to be able to obtain medications and therapy at the same location for continuality of care.
What inspires you?
Spending time with family, watching a sunset, being at the beach and reading.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect to be treated with compassion and acknowledgment that coming to therapy can be anxiety provoking.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want to understand what is bringing them to therapy at this time. What they need from therapy along with some background information including situations which could be impacting their current struggles.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am compassionate and understanding regarding how difficult it can be to take the first step, schedule and attend and attend the first appointment.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
crafts including scrapbooking, and card making

I love learning and feel a sense of wonder about the world.
