About Kelsey
Hi, I'm Kelsey Bass, M.A., LPC. I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), life transitions, relationship challenges, and stress. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Together, we work to better understand your experiences, develop effective coping skills, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change in a supportive and collaborative environment where you feel heard and valued.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I integrate evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and person-centered techniques to help you process difficult experiences, build practical coping skills, and create the lasting, meaningful change you deserve.
Reaching out for support takes courage, and you don't have to face life's challenges alone. Whether you're navigating a difficult season or seeking personal growth, I'd be honored to walk alongside you on your journey. When you're ready, I invite you to take the first step toward healing and lasting change.

"I believe healing begins when we feel truly seen and understood, and I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative space where you can process life's challenges, build on your strengths, and move toward lasting change. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I have always felt drawn to understanding people’s experiences and helping them feel heard, supported, and less alone. I value creating a space where clients can be honest about what they are going through without fear of judgment. Becoming a counselor allows me to walk alongside people as they process difficult experiences, gain insight, build confidence, and move toward meaningful change. I find it deeply rewarding to help clients reconnect with their strengths and begin creating a life that feels more manageable, fulfilling, and authentic.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with teens and adults who are ready to understand themselves better and create meaningful, lasting change. Many of my clients are navigating trauma, anxiety, OCD, depression, grief, or major life transitions and want a supportive space to process their experiences without judgment. Whether someone feels overwhelmed, stuck, or simply wants to better understand themselves, I strive to meet them where they are and help them build practical skills while working toward their personal goals at a pace that feels right for them.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish every client knew is that healing is rarely a straight line. Progress often comes with setbacks, uncomfortable emotions, and moments of uncertainty—but that doesn't mean you're failing. Therapy isn't about becoming a different person; it's about understanding yourself more deeply, building effective tools, and learning how to move forward in a way that aligns with your values. Every step, no matter how small, is meaningful progress.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, my priority is getting to know you and understanding what led you to seek therapy. We'll talk about what's been going on, what's feeling difficult, and what you hope to gain from counseling. I'll also ask questions about your history and current life so I can better understand your experiences. There's no expectation to share everything at once—we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. As we continue working together, we'll build on your strengths, explore what's keeping you feeling stuck, and develop practical tools that fit your life and goals. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and my goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that every person has a unique story and deserves to be met with compassion, curiosity, and respect. I value authenticity, collaboration, and creating a space where clients feel safe to be themselves without fear of judgment. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and empowered to move toward the life they want. My role is not to tell clients who they should be, but to walk alongside them as they build insight, resilience, and confidence in themselves.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe there is no one-sizefits-all approach to therapy because every person brings a unique history, strengths, and goals. I tailor treatment by getting to know each client as an individual and collaborating with them to determine what approaches will best support their needs. I draw from evidence-based modalities while remaining flexible, adjusting the pace and interventions as therapy progresses. My goal is to provide care that feels personalized, practical, and aligned with what matters most to each client.
