About Kayla
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 3 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults through life transitions, emotional challenges, and unexpected stressors. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, impulsivity, self-esteem concerns, and sexuality- and gender-related issues. I believe each client is the expert of their own life and work to empower individuals to build confidence, balance, and emotional well-being.
I earned my master’s degree in counseling from Sam Houston State University. My background includes work in educational and clinical settings, which allows me to bring a developmentally informed and collaborative approach to care. I use integrative, experiential techniques tailored to each client’s unique needs.
I recognize the courage it takes to explore your emotional world. In our work together, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and encouraged as you move toward healing, growth, and greater resilience. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.

"I hold a special place in my heart for children and adolescents navigating day-to-day life challenges, and I am honored to walk alongside them as they learn to thrive."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I saw firsthand how deeply children, adolescents, and families can struggle beneath the surface of day-to-day life. My years as an educator and school counselor intern opened my eyes to the emotional burdens many students quietly carry—anxiety, overwhelming expectations, grief, identity questions, and life transitions that often go unnoticed. I felt called to support them in a more meaningful and therapeutic way.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I feel confident in working with adults, teens, and children from all walks of life.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” what’s wrong with you; it’s about understanding yourself with compassion, building tools that support your well-being, and learning to navigate life with greater clarity and confidence. You don’t have to show up perfectly, and you don’t have to have everything figured out. Just showing up is already an act of strength, and every step you take no matter how small moves you closer to healing.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect a calm, welcoming space where the focus is simply on getting to know one another. I spends time learning about what brings you to therapy, your history, and any concerns you may have about the process. There is no pressure to share more than you’re ready for this session is about building comfort, safety, and trust. I will also guide you through what therapy might look like moving forward, answer any questions, and collaborate with you to begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you.
In the early stages of therapy, I work with you to develop a deeper understanding of your story your strengths, challenges, patterns, and the experiences that shaped you. I introduces coping skills, grounding strategies, or mindset tools tailored to your needs, while exploring the emotional themes that may surface. You’ll begin to build a foundation for growth, learning how to navigate difficult emotions, gain insight, and feel more empowered in your everyday life.
hat personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My work as a therapist has shaped my belief in the resilience and potential within every person. The years spent in the education system allowed me to witness the emotional challenges children, adolescents, and families often carry stress, identity concerns, grief, transitions, and the weight of expectations. These experiences reinforced my commitment to creating a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, respected, and truly understood.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
My practice is guided by core values of empathy, authenticity, and empowerment. I believes that each individual is the expert in their own life, and approach therapy with the intention of honoring each client’s unique strengths and lived experiences. I am dedicated to meeting clients exactly where they are, offering a compassionate and judgment-free environment where they can explore their emotions and begin to heal at their own pace.
