Get to know Gina
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor because of a job I had working with kids. I realized, that for a lot of them, they didn't have much support. They needed someone to care, to listen to them, and to be reliable. I think that's what we all want: to be heard and to feel seen.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session is all about getting to know one another, and as much as I want to get to know you, I also want you to get to know ME! Don't be afraid to ask me questions, but also be ready to set some goals and maybe have some homework at the end. ;)
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want a client to feel like they know where we are headed. I want them to walk away feeling like they have some nuggets, a place to start, and some hope.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I do like to exercise and spend time with my pooch, Tucker. My partner and I love watching sports and enjoying a nice patio on a beautiful day. I love being with family and spending time with my nieces and nephews.
