About Ghada
Ghada Simmons is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has over 10 years of experience, including counseling high school students, providing individual therapy, and leading group therapy sessions. Ghada has a passion for working with adults of all ages. She works with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and grief; those suffering from severe mood disorders; and much more. As a cancer survivor herself, Ghada understands the difficulties in navigating life while dealing with major health issues and serious illnesses.
Ghada earned her Master of Arts in Counseling at Prairie View A&M. As a former high school counselor, she has experience helping teenagers reach their potential and navigate challenges. Ghada uses multiple treatment approaches including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and positive psychology to reach client goals.

Get to know Ghada
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor when I was teaching Chemistry in high school and realized the teens gravitated to me not just for coursework but for emotional support. I truly feel I found my calling when I decided to become a counselor. I started working as a high school counselor then transitioned to working with adults of all ages.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I have a passion for working with all adults especially the geriatric population. I can work with clients 14 years of age and up.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with the geriatric population and bicultural individuals especially those that speak Egyptian Arabic.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew to change mental health and mental illness stigma because mental health is just as important as physical health. Individuals are more accepting of having physical ailments than mental disorders and that needs to change.

What inspires you?
My family and career inspire me to be a better person.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect me to be compassionate, empathetic, and open to learning all about them to devise a plan for their mental health wellness.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I wan to build a rapport and establish trust during the first session.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
That I am passionate about counseling and that my heart and mind are all in to help them become the best version of themselves. They should know I am a caring individual and I will always be in their corner.
