About Deanna
Deanna Campbell is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 7 years of experience working in the mental health field. She is passionate about helping adults process major life changes and unresolved trauma to live a more fulfilled life. Deanna specializes in depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, anger, and learning effective communication strategies. Deanna has experience working with all adults, many over age fifty who are transitioning into a new phase of life.
Deanna completed her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. She had to overcome trauma at an early age which led her to pursue a career helping others with trauma and grief. Deanna utilizes multiple treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-focused therapy (PCT), dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), and solutions-focused therapy (SFT).
Deanna is dedicated to assisting you in improving your relationships, teaching new strategies to cope with your life's stressors, and goal attainment in order to reach your fullest potential. Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I became a counselor so I could help others work through life stressors.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I enjoy working with clients who have problems setting boundaries, stress, and life changes.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
The one thing I wish clients knew is that they have the power within themselves to overcome and cope with things they feel like are out of their control.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by the little things in life, because they are what make big things.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I like the option to work remotely from home.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Getting to know one another, background questions, and a sense of what the client wants to work on.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Knowing what the client wants to work on.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I enjoy learning and helping others find solutions to help their lives be easier.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I have a dog and a cat. I like to cook, refinish furniture, garden, read, and I like true crime.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My ability to find the positive in the midst of a sea of negative.
