Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because of the calling in my life. I believe counselors are a gift; our gift is to help lead people to peace and wellness. I am uniquely gifted to help with that peace and wellness.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with all clients especially if they are ready to open up and looking for serious change in-self and life!
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Clients ages 6-40 excite me most in their development of self, safety, and identity through just showing up.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Therapy is a journey, and it can take however long your body tells you to feel fully removed. This could be months or years, but it's never overnight or after one session, when experincing true change.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks' mission is people, and my mission is people, and when two entities can come together with a common mission centered around people, only good and growth can come from it.
What inspires you?
I am inspired through the fellowship of long-suffering with my clients; this inspires me to continue to be empathetic humble, walk with integrity, and always provide the best possible care.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect the first couple of sessions of us to get to know one another and me, emphasizing the person for who they are now yet reminding them their healed self is still being created. This helps identify therapeutic goals in the first few sessions.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
My goal is to gain rapport and trust through the first session, in addition to a sense of welcoming and belonging needed.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Know how honored and proud that they took the first step (showing up), and I am ready and equipped to journey throguh wellness with you.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to run, workout, take walks with my family and dogs, engage in family competitive board games, eat at good restaurants, binge TV shows, and go to Church.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I let all I do be done in love; I believe when things, actions, attributes, and mindsets are done with the love of Christ, nothing can break it.
