About Beverly
Hello! I am Beverly Bailey, a licensed professional counselor. I understand that reaching out for help can feel like an enormous, uncomfortable step. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and respected from the very beginning. I'm dedicated to helping individuals navigate the noise of anxiety, trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse/sexual assault, OCD, grief/loss, everyday stressors that can overwhelm us, and the weight of depression. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be your true self.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you. I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with other therapeutic techniques that support growth, resilience, and meaningful change.
Therapy can help if you are ready to make a change, simply want to be heard, or if you're seeking tools to manage difficult emotions. You don't have to do this alone. I am here to support you. The first step is to schedule an appointment.

"As someone who has spent over 27 years working with trauma and loss, I understand how deeply painful life experiences can shape our lives, and I partner with clients to build practical skills and foster meaningful healing. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have always had a heart to work with others. This world can be challenging and alienating for many people. I wanted them to know they don't have to do it alone.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Children 5 and up. teens and young adults. I have the most experience with those age ranges, but I can work with all ages.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish that all clients knew that reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness, but of strength. Change is scary and this is the first step.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, I would want to get to know them. I would want them to be comfortable before we dive into tough topics. I would want to know what their expectations are for the counseling. Once comfortable in the therapist/client relationship, we would begin to address the reason(s) they presented. We would go at their pace in a safe enviroment.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have worked with victims of violent crime for over 27 years. In therapy, clients would receive Compassion and trauma-informed care are the result of my experience. Furthermore, one should meet the individual where they are mentally and help them get to where they need to be. My personal ethics and time working in the criminal justice system have also influenced how I practice. I think establishing boundaries and helping my clients establish boundaries saves a lot of potential problems.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I will meet them where they are emotionally and mentally. I will work on how to precede in theories/treatment based on each individual. No two clients are the same.
