About Aileen
I am a licensed psychologist with 9 years of experience providing culturally responsive therapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Many of the clients I work with are seeking a supportive space to better understand their experiences, strengthen relationships, and develop practical tools to improve their emotional well-being.
I earned my doctorate in counseling psychology from Texas A&M University. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I draw on evidence-based practices to help individuals, couples, and families build insight, strengthen coping skills, and improve communication and relationships.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, but you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I strive to create a supportive and respectful space where you feel heard and understood. If you’re ready to begin working toward greater clarity, healing, and growth, I would be honored to support you.

"As a bilingual psychologist shaped by my upbringing as the daughter of immigrant parents, I approach therapy with cultural humility and a commitment to helping clients feel understood, supported, and empowered."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a psychologist because I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, understood, and supported. Growing up as the daughter of immigrant parents in a bilingual household, I saw how barriers such as language, stigma, and limited resources can affect people’s ability to seek care. My work with underserved communities further strengthened my passion for helping people access meaningful, culturally responsive mental health services.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking a supportive space to better understand their experiences and navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I especially enjoy working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and those looking for culturally responsive, bilingual care.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that therapy doesn’t require you to have everything figured out before you start. It’s a space to explore your thoughts and experiences at your own pace. Healing is also not a linear process—there may be ups and downs along the way, but therapy can support you in gaining insight, developing new skills, and making meaningful progress over time.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect a supportive and welcoming space where we begin getting to know one another. I’ll ask questions to better understand your concerns, goals for therapy, and any experiences that may be important to your story. The early stages of therapy focus on building trust, gaining clarity around what you hope to work on, and beginning to identify strategies that can help support your growth and well-being.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is informed by my identity as a Latina psychologist and by seeing firsthand the need for accessible, culturally responsive mental health care within my own communities. These experiences, along with my work with underserved populations, have strengthened my commitment to creating a therapeutic space where clients feel understood, respected, and supported.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe therapy should never be one-size-fits-all. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their goals, strengths, and life experiences, and then tailor evidence-based strategies that best support their needs, growth, and healing.
